President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and Boss Mustapha as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
This was disclosed on Friday by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
He said both appointments were effective from May 29, 2019.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the President over his reappointment of Mallam Kyari and Mr. Mustapha as his Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Government of the Federation respectively.
The APC’s spokesperson, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu stated this in a statement shortly after National Working Committee meeting.
He said, “These reappointments formally reiterate the determination of President Buhari to step up on the Next Level agenda.
“The ruling party noted with satisfaction the reaffirmation of the President’s confidence in the duo.
“We are fully satisfied with their contributions so far and acknowledge that the duo fully understand the vision and direction of the APC-led administration.
“Having worked with Mallam Kyari and Mr. Mustapha in the last few years, we at the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party strongly believe that the President has made a well-informed decision.
“Our party is confident that the reappointed Chief of Staff and the SGF would justify the implicit confidence reposed in them by President Buhari and discharge their responsibilities for the overall good of Nigerians and our great country. We extend our congratulations to both Mallam Kyari and Mr. Mustapha.”
Similarly, speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, has also reacted to the reappointment of Abba Kyari as Chief of Staff and Boss Mustapha as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Gbajabiamila took to his official Twitter page to congratulate Kyari and Mustapha on their reappointment.
“I congratulate the duo of Mr. Boss Mustapha and Alhaji Abba Kyari on their re-appointment as SGF and Chief of Staff respectively.
“We shall all work together in upholding the inter-dependence and independence of the three arms of government for the progress of our dear country,” he wrote.
