Buhari, Osinbajo inaugurated for second term

Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sworn-in as Nigeria’s President for a second term in office.
The inauguration, which took place at the Eagle Square in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, had different dignitaries in attendance.
Because the occasion was on a low-key, many foreign leaders and former Nigerian presidents were absent.
It would be recalled that former minister of Information, had earlier announced that the event would be low-key as major parts of the event had been rescheduled for June 12, which has been declared Democracy Day.
Buhari who ran on the platform of ruling All Progressives Congress had defeated his main rival, Atiku Abubakar of People’s Democratic Party.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Buhari polled 55.6 per cent of the votes (15,191,847) to defeat Abubakar who polled 41.2 per cent (11,262,978).
Currently, Abubakar is challenging the result of the election in court.
