FRSC recovers N500,000 cash, as 16 die in road accident

Kano State command of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has confirmed death of no fewer that sixteen persons in the road crash that happened on Dambatta-Daura road, Kano State on Friday.

The ghastly motor accident, which involved three commercial vehicles in Tinqui Village while travelling to Daura in Katsina State, included 14 males and three females.

Spokesperson of the FRSC, Mr Kabiru Ibrahim Daura, who also confirmed the incident, said, N500,000 cash was recovered at the scene.

A Chieftain of the community, Mohammed Jamiu Dambatta, explained that the accident can be attributed to over speeding.

According to him, shortly after the incident, security operatives, including some Federal Road Safety Corps Marshal officials rushed the victims to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist hospital.
