House leadership crisis: PDP summons Elumelu, Oke, others

Following the crisis at the House of Representatives on Wednesday over minority leadership position, the National Working Committee (NWC) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned its party members.

A statement made available to journalists by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan said the decision was reached by NWC during its 473rd meeting.

He disclosed that crucial meeting between the NWC of the party and summoned House of Representatives members will hold at the party’s national secretariat, on Friday, July 5.

The members are summoned include Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Hon. Wole Oke, Hon. Lynda Ikpeazu, Hon. Anayo Edwin, Hon. Gideon Gwadi, Hon. Toby Okechukwu and Hon. Adekoya Abdul-Majid.

According to Ologbondiyan, the summon is in line with the provisions of Chapter 10 (57)(3) of the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He added that the members are to appear before the members of the National Working Committee at 10 am.
