Imo North Senate Seat: Court fixes June 20 for judgment

The Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by justice Taiwo Taiwo in Abuja has fixed June 20th, 2019 for judgment on the case filed by Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu on non issuance of Certificate of Return after he was declared winner by the returning officer at the just concluded 2019 National Assembly elections.

After the adoption of addresses by the 4 respondents, Independent National Electoral Commission, Peoples Democratic Party, All Progressive Grand Alliance, an Action Alliance parties respectively, the judge  fixed next week Thursday for the ruling after listening to all arguments.

You would recall that INEC withheld the certificate of  Rochas Okorocha on the basis of intimidating the returning officer while that of Senator Uwajumogu was also not issued and a committee set up to review the circumstances leading to the stalemate but the Senator approached the court to stop the committee sitting and order his cetificate of return to be given to him because he was not declared under duress by returning officer.
