PDP to FG: Stop victimising workers
By Adekunle Adebayo, Abuja
The opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the Federal Government and All Progressives Congress to stop victimising Nigerian workers.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement made available to newsmen, said workers had been patriotic and resilient despite the hardship facing the country.
According to him, workers have contributed positively to Nigeria’s stability and development.
“It is however unfortunate that at the time Nigerian workers should have been getting ready to enjoy the benefits of a new order under Atiku Abubakar, the nation is being held back by the ills of electoral manipulations.
“The PDP urges Nigerian workers not to be despondent as the mandate, which was freely given to Atiku Abubakar, will be retrieved at the tribunal.
“The party therefore calls on workers, as patriotic Nigerians, to continue to put in their best,” the statement read.
The opposition party, however, charged the FG not to bully or victimise any workers for fighting for the implementation of N30,000 new minimum wage.
