The Federal Ministry of Finance had directed that the responsibility should be that of the FIRS to ensure accountability and uniformity in government revenue drive.
The directive however did not go down well with Adegbuyi and the NIPOST establshment who cited the act authorising stamp duty as domiciling the responsibility with NIPOST rather than FIRS.
Adegbuyi recently spoke on the subject ,reiterating the need for the legal requirement to be complied with.
Furthermore, staff of NIPOST also demonstrated against the new policy last week.
It was learnt that Adegbuyi did not submit to or seek ministry’s guidance on the directive from the finance ministry.
