Buhari Chides Pastor Bakare as Tinubu Meets the President
The presidency has subtly chided Pastor Tunde Bakare over his call for Buhari to intervene in the process that will produce his successor.
Bakare had visited the President, urging him to nurture and ensure emergence of a successor to sustain his legacy.
A statement from the Presidency however rejected the call from the Lagos pastor ,insisting that the President will ensure free and fair process to determine his successor.
This rebuke is coming at a time Asiwaju Bola Tinubu visited President Muhammadu Buhari.
The politician who spoke briefly to journalists on 2023 presidential race condemned talks about zoning of 2023 presidency ,describing it as premature and haste.
Tinubu said the debate is distracting the government from delivering on its mandate ,noting that it is too early to be debating successor to a president who has just commenced his second term in office.
