What Buhari told Kwara Governor
By Surukusku Dalori
President Muhammadu Buhari today hosted a closed door meeting with the Kwara state governor ,AbdulRahaman AbdulRazak at the State House Abuja.
The meeting is coming amidst recent uproar created by the demolition of ile arugbo by the Kwara state government.
The incident has created strained relationship between the State Governor and his close ally,Gbemisola Saraki, the Minister of State for Transportation.
The minister had expressed displeasure that the Governor did not consult her on the sensitive matter despite their closeness even as she warned against the negative impact of the decision on the public rating of the APC in the state.
The Minister had further urged her supporters to remain calm even as she cautioned the governor against pursuing political vendetta against her family.
It is not clear what the President’s take on the matter was,but insiders said the issue was discussed .
“The President summoned the governor over the brewing crisis on the demolition especially the ill treatment of the minister who is a stakeholder from the state.
“The governor was cautioned to work for party unity so as not to undermine the party’s public image in future polls”,a source outside the State House who was aware of the matter said.
Another source however denied reports that the President summoned the governor over the Ile Arugbo debacle ,hinting instead that it was the governor who sought the audience to avail the President of what happened so far in the governance of the state.
