Minister Identifies Hicupps in Turkish/Nigeria Trade

Turkish Minister of Trade,Mrs. Ruhsar Pekcan has identified multiple taxation and high import duties as major hindrance against Turkish investment in Nigeria.

Speaking at the Nigerian-Turkish Business Forum in Abuja ,the Minister lamented that Turkish businesses face double and even triple taxation ,urging Nigeria to streamline her tax system to facilitate investment.

The Minister who echoed the complaints of Turkish businessmen at the forum noted that importation of machineries and equipment for joint ventures businesses should attract less import duty as a way of making investment in the country sustainable.

Speaking at the event,the Nigerian Trade Minister ,Otunba Niyi Adebayo described Turkey as a close business partner of Nigeria ,lauding the increasing trade boom between the two nations.

He noted that Forum like the one held in Abuja will help to remove all obstacles in trade relations.
