Amaechi Bags Award as ARR Commends Performance
Thisday newspapers has awarded Minister of the decade honour to Transportation Minister , Rotimi Amaechi.
The African Railway Roundtable described the award as merited and an acknowledgement of major attainment especially within the railway sector in a statement by its director,Segun Olanjorin.
The minister was honoured for his unparalleled achievements as a Transportation minister especially in the railway sector.
Amaechi had recorded commendable feat in the transport sector which has witnessed accelerated implementation of the National Railway Masterplan.
The minister while responding attributed whatever accomplishments he has recorded to the full support and opportunities accorded him by President Muhammadu Buhari,pledging to remain dedicated to national service.
“Thank you to everyone at Thisday Newspapers for this award. I’m grateful to Nigerians for the opportunity to serve, the President for finding me worthy and his commitment to infrastructural development in Nigeria.”,the minister noted on his Twitter page.
Meanwhile,a railway advocacy group,African Railway Roundtable has congratulated Mr Amaechi on the award ,describing his records as a minister as “groundbreaking”
“The minister exhibits clear focus,persistence and transparency in his handling of the railway sector. Many abandoned rail projects are completed and he breaks a star record by initiating and almost completing a major rail project ,Lagos-Ibadan SGR within the lifespan of an administration.This is a first in Nigeria”,the group noted in a statement signed by its director,Segun Olanjorin.
“The award is a challenge to the minister to do more,to listen more and to enforce more. Nigerian railway is back to life”,the statement by the group concluded.
