North West Groups Mull Digital Economic Zone
In their bid to showcase the abundant potentials of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara State to the Global Community,some notable entrepreneurial groups have commenced the process of creating a Digital Economic Zone to achieve the vision.
At an interactive meeting attended by members of the 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub and Innovate Kebbi Initiative, the groups agreed on the need to forge a common synergy towards promoting abundant agricultural potentials of the zone, taking advantage of the opportunities provided by Global Digital Markets.
The meeting noted that the three states have many things in common and have comparative advantage in agricultural commodities capable of providing millions of job opportunities for youth and women as well as drive economic growth and development of the State if properly harnessed.
In his presentation earlier, Chief Executive Officer of the 21st Century Entrepreneurs Hub ,Mallam Lawal Sulaiman welcomed the delegation from Kebbi to the Hub’s Office describing the visit as very strategic in promoting small scale enterprises, creativity and technological innovations among various Start up groups in the zone.
He added that partnership with like minded groups will help in promoting quality and standards of products more especially during annual exhibitions conducted by the Hub.
Àlso Speaking, Chairman of the Hub, Umar Idris emphasized on the need to look inwards and work harmoniously towards promoting the abundant potentials of the States to the outside World.
He explained that the hub has succeeded in mentoring several Start Up ventures and are doing remarkably well in many business endeavors across Sokoto, Katsina, Niger and Nassarawa States hoping that Kebbi and Zamfara States will soon follow suit.
Earlier in his presentation, Founder of Innovate Kebbi Initiative and Vice Chairman of NASSI Kebbi State, Mallam Abubakar Bagudu Kalgo said they were on familiarisation tour to the Hub to share ideas on small scale enterprises management, talent hunt, commodity parckaging and access to International Markets for various products produced by small scale enterprises in the State.
Abubakar Kalgo welcomed the idea of Creating Digital Economic Zone to drive the process of products Development, Standard Parckaging, Quality Control and Price Intelligence as a way of stimulating Entrepreneurs to become active player in the global markets and equally imbibe best international practices in handling their respective businesses.
At the end of the meeting, members of the hub expressed interest to attend the upcoming Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival with a view to showcasing their products and services during the three day event.
The 3 man delegation from Kebbi made up of Abubakar Bagudu Kalgo, Coordinator of Media for Development Initiative, Abubakar Aliyu Gwandu and Fatima Muhammed was conducted round the Hub’s premises by the CEO and the Management team.
