Boko Haram: GOC Begs Borno People for Support
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7 Division Nigerian Army,
Brig-Gen. Abdul Ibrahim, has solicited stakeholders’ support and
cooperation to end Boko Haram insurgency in Borno.
The decade long insurgency has also claimed many lives and property in
Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
According to him, communities’ support of military in
counter-insurgency operations could end war for peace in northeast.
While addressing troops Saturday at West Africa Social Activities
(WASA)/End of Year Party 2019 at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, he
said that the army will re-strategize in the ongoing fight against
Boko Haram insurgency.
“Our troops will continue to sustain the fight against insurgents,
until they are completely wiped out from Sambisa Forest and the Lake
Chad region,” he said, urging troops to professionally end the war for
peace in the state.
The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Olusegun
