Garkida Reels from Boko Haram Attacks

Boko Haram suspected terrorists in gun and pickup van trucks have
attacked Garkida Community; torching its police station, Church and
houses plunging the town into deep mourning.


The community, located south of Sambisa Forest, had been attacked
severally with loss of lives and property in the last six years.


Confirming the incident Saturday; in Maiduguri, Wakchal Borgu, a
resident said: “The terrorists burst from Sambisa Forest valley of
River Hawul on mounted trucks and torched many of our houses and
shops.


“As they continue burning our houses, we had to flee into the eastern
hill and nearby bushes for safety”


He said that two hours after the attack, a Police station, Church and
an Army General’s residence were also torched by the daring
terrorists.


According to him, the pickup vans, were employed to loot food items
and drugs, before setting shops and patent medicine stores.


While contacting Adamawa Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP
Sulaiman Nguroje, in SMS message yesterday, he said: “Garkida
community is exclusively under Military jurisdiction. We cannot
confirm the weekend attack or comment on it.”


Borgu noted that the troops at Garkida, however withdrew, leaving
behind about a dozen of them to retreat for terrorists over run
community.
