Suspected Boko Haram terrorists in gun trucks and motorcycles Monday
night attacked Kirchinga; torching houses and shops in Madagali
Council of Adamawa state.
Confirming the incident Tuesday at Madagali military post, Col. U.S
Abdulsalam disclosed: “There was an attack in Kirchinga community, but
it was successfully repelled to protect people’s lives and property.”
Residents of Kirchinga also told our correspondent yesterday that the
terrorists inflitrated the Community and torched several houses and
shops, before the soldiers intervened to repel them.
While lamenting incessant attacks, Mitha Kimangir, a volunteer hunter
said: “They came in shooting in the air and looting shops and burning
houses as we scampered for our safety.
“Some of us took refuge in nearby bushes and farmlands for three
hours, before the soldiers from Madagali arrived and repelled the
Kimangir noted that Boko Haram elements could have done worse damages if the military had not intervened.
“Soldiers showed up after a while and got the insurgents rushing off,” he said.
