Edo Race: APC Governors’ Forum Slams Oshiomole
The Director-General of Progressives Governors’ Forum PGF, Mallam Salihu Lukman, has appealed to the party to strive to win the hearts of Edo state electorate ahead of the September 19 governorship election.
In a statement, Mallam Salihu urged the APC to make its candidate the face of its campaign rather than the former governor of the state, Mr Adams Oshiomhole.
The statement reminds the party chieftains that the APC is just coming out of a major crisis, and should ensure that the campaign is not recklessly handled.
According to the statement, relegating the standard-bearer of the party, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu to an onlooker in the campaign will limit his opportunity to tell the electorate about his blueprint.
It adds that there is a need to learn from past experiences where the APC lost elections that would have been avoided, stressing that Edo state is strategic for the party.
