Nigeria – Sudan Business Council To Be Established

The First Duputy President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Alhaji Al-Mujtaba Abubakar on Wednesday hosted the Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Omer Elfarong M. Elsanosy Abdelkareem at the Chamber Secretariat of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Alhaji Al-Mujtaba who proposed that a business council be established to foster seemless trade relations and business networking meetings between business men of both countries, said the Business Council will help both countries expand into new markets and remain competitive in an increasingly complex and evolving global marketplace.
He told the gathering that the ACCI has risen to be the best Chamber of Commerce in the country, adding that the Chamber is aiming for the number one position in Africa.
“The Chamber is growing and has overtaken all other chambers in the country. By virtue of our location, we have the advantage of relating directly with the Federal Government ministries and Foreign Embassies in Abuja” he said.
Also speaking the Director General of the Chamber, Victoria Akai informed the Ambassador of the developmental strides made in the Chamber in the recent past such as the establishment of 4-Centres and the Centers’ activities.
She assured the Envoy that the Chamber will work together with his embassy to foster trade relations between both countries.
While speaking, Amb Omer Elfarong M. Elsanosy Abdelkareem congratulated the Chamber of the developmental strides recorded and prayed the Chamber grows to become the best Chamber globally.
“All other African Countries are looking up to Nigeria, so we hope you will become the best Chamber in the globe” he said.
He also said his country has developed its agriculture and education sector which Nigeria can tap into.
“We are the number one producers of gum Arabic, and we have introduced new variety of wheat that can tolerate harsh weather conditions. Your Government have indicated interest to learn from us” he told the gathering.
