Former Deputy Gov, Erelu Obada, Emerges Ijesha PDP Elders’ Leader

Press Release: The Ijesa Elders Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party comprising of the unity and peace loving leaders of the Party in Ijesaland with a stronger mission of winning elections for the Party at all times.

In the Caucus meeting held on the 8th day of January 2021 at High Chief Dele Faseru’s House, Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, the members of the Caucus upon the consideration of the earlier decision and suggestions of the outgoing Leader and Chairman, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, on account of
his health, to voluntarily handover the leadership of Ijesa elders caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party to another vibrant leader, the following decisions are taken:

a. That High Chief Dele Faseru is the father of all the members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ijesaland.

b. Having ratified the earlier decision and suggestions of Chief Ebenezer Babatope, Chief (Mrs.) Erelu Olusola Obada is the new Leader and Chairman of the Ijesa Elders Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party.

c. The Caucus considering the divisions and factions in the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, it is compelling and imperative for the Caucus to take steps capable of bringing an end to these divisions and totally eradicating factions within the political family.

d. The Ijesa Elders Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party shall now have a working Executive Committee, comprising of, among others, at least one representative from each of the six local governments and all others the Caucus may find their membership necessary.

In full consultation with our distinguished Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, Hon Oluwole
Oke and other well-meaning Ijesa PDP Leaders globally, the caucus resolves as requested by our
Leader Chief Ebenezer Babatope that the Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Former
Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Pioneer Pro Chancellor and the Chairman
Governing Council of the Federal University, Dutsima, Kastina State, Chairman of Cocoa rebirth in Nigeria and member of the BOT of the PDP in Nigeria, Chief Mrs. Erelu Olusola Obada (CON) be officially installed as the new Leader and Chairman of The Ijesa Elders Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party in the interest of moving our party forward at all levels.

Upon the acceptance of this position, we ask our mother, Leader and Chairman, Chief Erelu Olusola Obada CON to convey an all-inclusive Ijesa PDP elders caucus meeting in no distant future and roll out her plans and mode of operations of Ijesa PDP to ensure permanent unity in the Party.

It’s also an all times decision of the Caucus, that it shall be working hand in hand with the state working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party to ensure victory for the party in the state and federal elections in the future and also working for the unity of the party at all levels. We are
members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Ijesaland comprising of six (6) Local Government Areas in Osun State with heavy population and victorious election value.
