Chambers of Commerce, Pivotal to Strengthening Nigeria’s GDP-ACCI
The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Al-Mutjaba Abubakar has said Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria is pivotal to improving and strengthening the country’s GDP.
Dr. Al-Mujtaba who was represented by the chamber’s First Deputy President, Chief Emeka Obegolu made this known at the 32nd Enugu International Trade Fair.
He said the continued resilience of the Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria in facilitating and creating trade opportunities helped in changing the economic realities of Nigerians.
He said the Enugu International Trade fair provided an opportunity for the organised private sector, public sector and the informal sector to meet in an atmosphere of commerce to promote trade, share ideas about the economy.
These, he said, would lead to an improved business environment and networking for commercially and mutually beneficial relationships.
He said the ACCI has been reforming the delivery of trade fairs, as is applicable in other parts of the world, to satisfy customers and members.
“At the ACCI, we are constantly introducing modern practices in line with international best practices, to provide the much needed network that will place us on the pedestal to collectively contribute our critical input towards the task of putting our people to work, generating employment opportunities and creating wealth for them even as countries are still struggling to recover from the global pandemic of COVID-19,” he said.
He said the ACCI has been evolving while exploring technological potentials in service delivery through its centres.
“It is in recognition of the valuable contributions of these centres that prompted the National Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) to adopt these 4 centers as national centers, at its 2021 1st Quarterly Council Meeting,” he said.
He urged participant to join in the chamber’s Waste to Wealth Expo and Summit billed to hold on 21st to 23rd July, 2021 in Abuja adding that the the inauguration dinner in honour of Alhaji Al-Mujtaba Gummi as the President of the ACCI would also hold on 25th of March, 2021.
While commending the organisers of the Enugu International Trade Fair, he used the medium to invite the gathering to the 16th Abuja International Trade Fair scheduled to hold from the 30th September to 9th October 2021at the ACCI Ultramodern Trade and Convention Centre.
“We invite leaders and members of the Enugu Chamber to visit the Chamber whenever they visit Abuja to visit ACCI centres to explore the opportunities available.
He further urged participants to stay safe adding, “COVID 19 s still very much still with us, and enjoy the fair.”
