Army Kills 11 Terrorists In Borno Border Community
Troops of 192 Battalion, Operation Lafiya Dole have killed 11 Boko Haram terrorists Sunday in the Gwoza border community of Borno.
The terrorists burst from Mandara Hills to attack the Tango 9 Special Force in the counter-insurgency operations of border areas with Cameroon.
In a statement Tuesday in Maiduguri, Director, Army Public Army Relations, Brig-Gen. Mohammed Yerima, disclosed that; “The Tango 9 troops responded rapidly by engaging the terrorists with superior fire power.
“They were instantly neutralized instantly, while others were forced to retreat with gunshot wounds and escaped into Sambisa Forest, west of the border community.”
On attacks’ casualties, he disclosed: “We have counted at least eleven corpses of the terrorists after exploring the border areas with Cameroon,” adding that the troops engaged insurgents in the enclaves of Mandara Hills.
According to him, the troops also recovered a dozen AK-47 rifles, an anti-aircraft gun, motorcycles; as well as several other weapons from terrorists.
