Chadian Rebels Vow Further War as Opposition Says House Speaker, Not Deby Son, should be President
The situation in Chad may worsen despite the sudden death of President Idris Deby.
Reports indicated that rebels are still on their plot to march on the capital despite Deby’s death.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that the rebels had indeed infiltrated the capital , Ndjamena.
Meanwhile, political opposition in the country have kicked against the declaration of late President’s son as President , describing it as “a violation of the Chadian constitution”
According to the political opposition , the Speaker of the House is billed to take over as acting President according to the constitution.
They also contended that announcement of Mohammed Deby as acting President amounts to a copy de’tat.
Meanwhile, France and UAE are reported to be battling for influence on succession question in the country.
