The Commissioner for Trade and private sector promotion of Economic Community of West African States, Dr. Mamadou Traore, has plegded concerted support of the commission to Strengthen the regional West African Chamber of Commerce,FEWACI.

The Commissioner made the plegde in his office on 15th January while hosting the FEWACCI delegation led by it’s president ,Hajia Saratu Iya  Aliyu.

The Commissioner reiterated the importance of the regional chamber to drive and boost inter ECOWAS trade and forging a closer link among ECOWAS business leaders and members.

While plegding to support the 2020 programme of FEWACI,the Commissioner urges further drive to develop trade capacity and advocacy as a way to advance unjited front as the continent prepares for  free trade zone regime 

Speaking earlier,the FEWACI president commended ECOWAS timeless support for FEWACI,assuring that the chamber leadership is committed to realisation of FEWACI mandate.

She spoke further:”On behalf of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI) and, the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (NACCIMA), I wish to extend to you Sir, my sincere Compliments of the Season. I wish the ECOWAS President, you and the entire ECOWAS Commission, a happy, blessed and prosperous 2020 and beyond.

“Year 2019 marked the first year of my tenure and during the year, we reinforced and strengthened FEWACCI leadership and name, and we activated our network. 

“For this year 2020 we intend to amplify FEWACCI’s purpose with case studies and key projects with the support of ECOWAS Commission, Heads of State in the Region that we paid courtesy visit to.

“We thank ECOWAS Commission and its partners ( ITC, UNIDO, OIF, World Bank, AfDB..) for the support given to us to build FEWACCI awareness and position to be the key network for the private sector in deepening regional economic integration. 

The FEWACI president was accompanied on the visit by the Chief Executive Officer of the chamber , Amb. Aminou Akadiri and other officials.
