There is a heavy security presence at Eagles Square, Abuja, the venue of the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Security personnel have manned strategic locations and roads around Eagles Square and the federal secretariat, while armoured personnel carriers have been stationed at the adjoining junctions.
Meanwhile, the roads along the axis of Eagles Square have been blocked, resulting in gridlock.
Currently, delegates from across the country have started arriving at the venue of the national convention.
Here are photos from the venue.
On Friday, an appeal court sitting in Rivers state had dismissed a suit seeking to stop the convention.
A three-member panel unanimously dismissed the application by Uche Secondus, the suspended PDP chairman, for lacking in merit.
Secondus had approached the court seeking an order of injunction to restrain the opposition party from holding its national convention.
