The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement, that Lamamra’s meeting with the ambassadors of Arab countries was an opportunity to inform them of the efforts made by his country to promote joint Arab action in the perspective of building the Arab national security system in all its dimensions. The same applies to Arab societies, especially with regard to questions related to the Corona (Covid-19) pandemic, as well as the challenges of economic and social development, leading to a focus on solidarity and collective self-reliance in a way that guarantees the immunity of the Arab nation and the protection of its interests.

According to the statement, Lamamra highlighted Algeria’s efforts to provide the basic factors to ensure the success of the upcoming Arab summit and make it a milestone in the process of joint Arab action, expressing the commitment of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to continue the process of consultation and coordination with his brothers, the leaders of Arab countries, and to complete the direct contacts that bring him together. periodically with many of his Arab counterparts, as well as those through his special envoy.

The Algerian minister added, according to the statement, that the objectives of this path, which Algeria started, are to reach consensus formulas on the most prominent issues that will be presented to the next Arab summit, including setting the appropriate date for its convening.

In the same context, he made it clear that in response to the fallacies circulating about “postponing the date of the summit,” the Algerian president intends to put forward the date of the summit to combine the historical national symbolism with the Arab nationalist dimension, in a way that perpetuates the values ​​of joint struggle and Arab solidarity, in accordance with the procedures in place within the framework of Arab system.
