The 2022 gubernatorial election in Osun State recorded the highest number of the vote any candidate has ever obtained in the history of the state, and it was a great victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) when Senator Ademola Adeleke emerged as the winner of the election. Since then, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to good governance and selfless leadership, which has endeared him to the people of Osun State.
In just three months of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won all three senatorial seats and nine House of Representatives seats in Osun state. This resonant electoral victory shows that the people of Osun State have confidence in Governor Adeleke’s leadership and his party’s principles.
Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, was able to do it in 2011 during his first term although with a long period to establish himself as he had been in office for 5 months. Everyone that remembers will recall that he was able to do it as a result of people’s acceptance and support of the beloved people of Osun State.
Governor Adeleke has shown the good people of Osun that nothing is impossible with good governance and selfless leadership. His victory at the polls is a clear indication that the people of Osun state are tired of bad governance and are ready for a change.
Furthermore, PDP’s victory has reaffirmed to the people of Osun State’s belief that the “buga judgment” was a skirmish against democracy and would not stand in appellate courts. The victory of the PDP in the senatorial and House of Representatives elections is a clear indication that the people of Osun state have given Governor Adeleke the mandate to lead them.
And the people have further taken steps to defend him by voting in those who share the same ideology as my principal, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. This is a clear indication that the people of Osun State are willing to stand with Governor Adeleke and the PDP in their quest for good governance and selfless leadership.
My great people of Osun State must replicate their zeal in the HoA election on March 11 and elect all PDP candidates. This will further enhance the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government, which will foster accelerated growth and development in the state. It will also increase workers’ welfare and significant infrastructural development, among other developments in the state.
In conclusion, Governor Adeleke’s good governance and selfless leadership have been the catalyst for PDP’s electoral victory in Osun State. His unwavering commitment to good governance and selfless leadership has earned him the people’s trust, and they have shown their support by voting for PDP candidates in the February 25th election. The people of Osun State must continue to support Governor Adeleke and the PDP in their quest for good governance and selfless leadership. Together, we can build a better Osun State.
