Lagos PDP disproves allegations, urges members to settle personal scores

The People’s Democratic Party PDP chapter has disregarded the recent allegations against it’s excos, leaders and other members of the party in the state.

This was confirmed in a press release signed by Hon. Soji Orioye, party
State Secretary which reads:

“It has come to the notice of the Lagos state Executive members of our party that some members are abusing the use of social media and other platforms to spread information about some of the leaders and Exco members of our party in Lagos state which may not be true. The matter has degenerated to the point at which petition is been written to the Police on matters that are purely internal affairs of the party.
“The Peoples Democratic Party – PDP is a political party founded and operated on rules and the party holds its Constitutional provisions as the guiding principles in all it’s dealings both at the National ,state , Local Government and wards chapters .

“In view of the above, we are by this notice urging anyone who has evidence of Fund misappropriation, anti-Party activities or any other misbehaviour against any of the party Executives, leaders or members that contravenes the constitution of the party to formally submit their petition to the State Executive arm of the Party to enable them look into the matter and recommend proper disciplinary action against such individuals if found wanting.

“It is very unacceptable for any member no matter his/her status to bye pass the party constitutional organs to involve the police on a matter that the executives of the party are yet to be briefed upon. It is important to state that this is as an affront on the constitution of the party and members who are involved in such acts will surely be made to account for thier actions.

“We are by this notice urging our members to disregard the allegations being peddled by individual members who maybe using the challenges currently facing the party to cast aspersion on each other and to settle personal scores.

“This is to also inform our teaming members and the general public that the People’s Democratic Party, Executive members is not in the know of event leading to the petition written to the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) of the Nigeria Police and hereby dissociates itself from such petition which was based on the allegations of misappropriaton of funds and therefore should be disregarded until a fact finding committee on the issue make available the true position of events and happenings on the matter.

“Henceforth, any member or group of members who embark on writing of petition to external bodies, peddling lies, and false allegations without exhausting the internal mechanism for settling such matters and thereby tarnishing the image of the party and its leadership will be made to face disciplinary committee of the party
