Osun: Governor Adeleke appoints new Iyaloja General, no government can remove me – Asindemade

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of Chief Oyebode Aderonke Mary as the new Iyaloja General of Osun State.

In a statement by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed on Thursday in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke described the new Iyaloja General as “a strong leader of business women in Osun state who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Commerce.

“We approve her appointment with all sense of responsibility and confidence in her ability to pilot the affairs of women in commerce for the collective prosperity of Osun state”, the Governor was quoted as saying.

In her reaction , Alhaja Awawu Asindemade who was the Iyaloja General before her removal, stated that she is still the Iyaloja General and no government has the power to remove her since the group was founded by her.

She said she is still the Iyaloja General in Osun, while the new appointee is PDP’s Iyaloja General.

In her words; “They only removed themselves and not me, I am not bothered with the press release because they didn’t disturb me from being the Iyaloja General rather they choose to appoint a new Iyaloja General for PDP.

“I am still the Iyaloja General in Osun, my position is not for a specific tenure. The new appointee is PDP’s Iyaloja General.

“It is nothing if they decides not to relate or have anything to do with us, they are not the only governing body that we have, we have government at the Federal level too.

“The Iyalojas group is a Non-governmental organization which was founded by me, the position of Iyaloja General wasn’t pass to me by anyone, I didn’t succeed anyone, so therefore, the State government has no power to remove me as the Iyaloja General.”

The State government however noted that the inauguration ceremony for the new Iyaloja General will be held next week.
