The supreme Court on Friday ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Accountant General of the Federation to stop releasing Monthly Allocation to the Rivers State Government.

The Apex Court it’s ruling added that the allocation should be stopped until the Rivers State Government present the Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule.
Not only that, the Court also ordered the Assembly to immediately resume sitting with all the Elected Members.
The Supreme Court in its judgement, read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, faulted the decision of Governor Fubara for presenting the state Appropriation Bill to four lawmakers saying th situation in the State was purely dictatorship rather than Democratic.
Also, the court held that the crisis in River State was due to non adherence to the rule of law and flagrant disobedience to the court order.
It therefore affirmed the leadership of Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, as the Authentic Speaker of the Rivers House of Assembly.
