The ruling party in Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), extends its warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, on his well-deserved recognition as the Telegraph Governor of the Year Award recipient in the category of Public Health.

Governor Adeleke’s administration has prioritized the health and well-being of the people of Osun State, implementing groundbreaking policies and initiatives such as Imole Surgical Outreach, Free Pensioners’ Health Insurance Scheme, Modern renovation of over 332 PHCs in the state amongst many other initiatives, that have significantly improved healthcare delivery across the state.
Governor Adeleke’s administration has demonstrated a clear understanding of the critical role that a robust healthcare system plays in the socioeconomic development of any society.
The award is a recognition of the tangible progress made in addressing the healthcare challenges inherited from the previous administration.
It is noteworthy that this award comes at a time when the immediate past administration is being petitioned for the mismanagement and embezzlement of a $20 million health grant won in 2020.
While the previous government failed to utilize this grant for the benefit of the people, Governor Adeleke’s administration has shown what true leadership looks like by achieving remarkable milestones in public health without such external funding. This award serves as a stark reminder of the difference between a government that prioritizes the welfare of its people and one that squanders opportunities for personal gain.
