… says no more fight between him and Alasi.
It was a celebration of peace and unity on Thursday as the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Adewale Egbedun, was warmly received by residents of Asi town in a grand welcome filled with praises, prayers and jubilation.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, youths, and residents from Okuku, Oyan, and Asi town came out enmass out to show their support and love for the Speaker, reaffirming their loyalty and appreciation for his leadership.
Egbedun, who also visited the Olokuku of Okuku, Oba Samuel Abioye Olabode, and the Oloyan of Oyan, Oba Kelani Adekeye, was showered with royal prayers and blessings by the monarchs.
While addressing the crowd at this residence in Asi town, Speaker Egbedun urged the people of Asi community to embrace peace and avoid conflict.
“There is no more issue between me and Alasi, I was pressured to anger. Before I reacted the way I did, I was provoked. If someone I regarded as my father could send thugs with machetes to my house, then he is not my father. But I leave everything to God. I have nothing against anyone. And I urge you all to do the same.
“All the Chiefs and Royal Fathers, may you not be disgraced. I beg you all, please don’t fight with anyone. Thank you.” He pleaded.
During an interview with Sahel, the youth leader in Asi, Prince Samuel Olawoyin expressed his happiness and readiness to allow peace in Asi town.
“We are glad our boss came back despite all the tribulations. Just as he said, there’s no more fight. Asi Town will not be destroyed by God’s grace” he prayed.
A resident from Asi town, Mrs. Deborah, also showered prayers on Egbedun.
“We are so glad everything is now settled. There’s peace, no more fight. Hallelujah!, may God continually bless our Speaker”
