Hundreds of residents of Ifelodun State Constituency in Ikirun, Osun State, on Wednesday benefited from a mega empowerment programme organised by the lawmaker representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly, Tajudeen Akinlolu Adeyemi.
The empowerment programme, held on March 11, 2026, attracted women, men and youths from across the constituency who received various working tools and equipment aimed at improving their livelihoods and boosting economic activities in the area.
Speaking during the distribution of the items, Hon. Adeyemi urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items provided to enhance their economic capabilities and become self-reliant.
He said the initiative was part of his commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents and supporting small businesses and artisans within the constituency.
According to the lawmaker, empowering the people with tools needed for their trades will not only reduce unemployment but also strengthen the local economy.
Honourable Tajudeen Adeyemi urged the people of his constituency and Osun in general to vote for governor Ademola Adeleke during the forthcoming governorship election for the good development in the state to continue.
The items distributed during the programme included motorcycles, freezers, refrigerators, hairdryers, tailoring machines, grinding machines, clippers, generators, gas cookers, farm sprayers and Chemicals for farmers, sewing machines, welding machines, working tools for bricklayers, carpenters as well as cash gifts for various groups.
Several beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for what they described as a timely intervention that would help improve their businesses and living conditions.
They commended Hon. Adeyemi for giving back to the people of his constituency through empowerment initiatives and pledged their continued support for him.
The beneficiaries also assured their support for the administration of Ademola Adeleke, expressing confidence in the governor’s leadership and promising to back his bid for another term in office.
The empowerment programme is one of several constituency outreach initiatives organised by the lawmaker to support residents and promote economic growth in Ifelodun State Constituency.
