“The death of Ms. Osunlakin Grace is deeply painful and heartbreaking. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, the Governing Council, management, staff and students of Osun State University. “I urge all students and members of the public to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding. Everyone should refrain from actions or statements capable of escalating tension. The safety and welfare of our students remain a top priority for this administration,” he stated.

The governor also directed the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the management of Osun State University, to immediately undertake a comprehensive assessment of healthcare services across all the institution’s campuses.

According to him, the exercise is aimed at strengthening emergency response systems, improving medical facilities and ensuring that students have prompt access to quality healthcare whenever the need arises.

Adeleke further prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased student’s soul and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the standard of education, student welfare and healthcare services in all state-owned tertiary institutions.
