The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, has urged artisans in Ede to remain united and support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election, saying the administration has delivered policies and projects that have positively impacted the lives of residents across the state.

Akinleye made the appeal during a town hall meeting organised by the Forum of Ede Youth Development Association (FEYDA), where more than 85 artisan groups from Ede North and Ede South declared their support for the governor ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The meeting, attended by artisans, community leaders and political stakeholders, provided an opportunity for participants to reaffirm their confidence in the Adeleke administration and pledge to mobilise support for the governor’s second-term bid.

Speaking at the event, Akinleye described artisans as a vital force in the state’s economy, noting that their skills and businesses contribute significantly to employment generation and community development.

“Artisans are not just workers; you are builders of families, communities and the economy. Your support for Governor Ademola Adeleke and his administration is highly appreciated. We encourage you to remain united and continue to support a government that has demonstrated commitment to the welfare and development of the people,” he said.

He said the administration had continued to implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents through infrastructure development, youth empowerment and other people centred initiatives.

According to him, the governor’s style of governance has ensured that development reaches communities across the state, adding that continuity would enable the administration to consolidate on its achievements.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke has shown that governance is about the people. His policies and projects have touched lives across Osun State, and we believe this journey of development should continue. We are calling on all artisans to stand together and support his re-election on August 15,” Akinleye added.

He also encouraged artisan associations to strengthen their cooperative societies, saying a united front would improve their chances of benefiting from government empowerment programmes, financial assistance and capacity-building initiatives.

Representatives of the artisan groups, in separate remarks, pledged their support for Governor Adeleke’s re-election and promised to mobilise their members to vote for him in the forthcoming governorship poll.

The town hall meeting was facilitated by FEYDA under the leadership of its National President, Comrade Afolabi Waliu Abiola.

Participants said the engagement further strengthened the relationship between the government and artisans, expressing confidence that the governor would continue to prioritise the welfare and development of the people if re-elected.
