Opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Osun state is ramping up preparation for the election of three adhoc delegates in each of the wards across the state.
The exercise is a crucial stage of the struggle for the PDP governorship ticket whose primary is slated for March 7.
The adhoc delegates Congress is slated to hold on Wednesday 16th according to the timetable released by the national secretariat of the party.
Checks across the various caucuses of the party revealed heightened preparation even as the peace and reconciliation efforts of the Olagunsoye Oyinlola continues.
The elected adhoc delegates are to join the statutory and automatic delegates of the party to elect the governorship candidate of the party.
Any faction that win the next Wednesday contest may have inched closer to winning the governorship primaries slated for March 7th.
Insider reports from the PDP however revealed that the Adeleke group currently holds the commanding majority going by ongoing endorsement and adoption across the local governments of the state.
A party chief from Osogbo confided in Sahel Standard that ” the Wednesday contest is surely going to favour the Adeleke group. The reports from the wards are quite clear. Other aspirants are finding it difficult to even go round the local governments because they have no pledged delegates to meet”
