In a remarkable show of solidarity and commitment to community development, Representative Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, and his associates have raised 100 million Naira to support the Ede Day 2024 celebration.
The event, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Ede, a historic town in Osun State, is set to be one of the most significant gatherings of the year.
The fundraising initiative aims to promote unity, economic growth, and development within the community and has garnered widespread attention.
A total of 32 members of the House of Representatives, led by the prominent lawmaker Rt. Hon. Ado Doguwa, graced the event, offering both financial and moral support.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, was represented by Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, while Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu was represented by the Spokesperson of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Akintunde Rotimi.
Members of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives were also present to support their chairman, Representative Bamidele Salam, who also serves as the chairman for Ede Day 2024. The committee was represented by the Deputy Chairman, Jeremiah Umaru, and several distinguished colleagues.
Their participation highlights the national importance of cultural celebrations and the role they play in strengthening ties between communities and government.
The 100 million Naira raised will be allocated to various developmental projects within Ede.
