Kemi Badenoch, the prominent and controversial leader of the UK’s Conservative Party, recently shared her personal views on faith.
In an interview on The Free Press podcast hosted by Bari Weiss, Badenoch revealed that her relationship with faith has changed significantly over the years.
She stated that while she no longer believes in God, she does not consider herself an atheist. Instead, she identifies as an agnostic and a “cultural Christian.”
“I don’t believe in God anymore,” she admitted, reflecting on a shift from the strong belief she once held. Despite this change, she clarified that her lack of belief doesn’t lead her to atheism. “I am not an atheist, I am agnostic,” she said.
Suggesting that for her, the existence of God is uncertain and open to interpretation.
“I don’t think it matters if people believe in God or not,” she added. “What matters is what they do with the belief or trust”.
