AFRD: Christian Association Of Nigeria Commends Military’s Selfless Service

The Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Southeast Zone has commended the selfless services of Nigeria’s Armed forces, Legionaries for their efforts in securing the country.

The CAN Chairman of the Zone, Very Reverend Father Abraham Nwali, who is also the Senior Special Adviser to Ebonyi State Governor, gave the commendation during the 2022 Armed forces Remembrance Interdenominational thanksgiving service at Saint Paul’s Parish, Onuebonyi in Abakaliki the State Capital.

Dr Nwali appreciated the efforts of the Nigeria Armed Forces, Legionaries and the fallen heroes who have paid the supreme price to ensure that lives and properties are secured.

“I must appreciate all your efforts to safeguard Nigeria, Government should also do more to increase their welfare”

“Security and masses should understand themselves. The masses should know that security is out there to help them. They shouldn’t be seen as a threat to them. Security as well should also apply human face while working,” he added.

Nwali called on the Nigerian Government to look into the welfare of the Armed forces most especially the families of the fallen heroes.

“When you have done well in whatever thing you are doing on this earth and no one appreciates you, don’t worry God does”. Nwali added.

In the same vein. the Bishop of Anglican Diocese Abakaliki, His Lordship Monday Nkwegu thanked the Armed forces and Legionaries for making sure that Nigeria was not overtaken by hoodlums and criminals.

Bishop Nkwegu encouraged them to do more to conquer the insecurity facing the nation.

During the thanksgiving service, the Secretary to Ebonyi State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala assured the Legionaries that he will work to ensure that all the pledges made to them by individuals are redeemed to give them better welfare.

All the Executive Council Members who were present in the thanksgiving service made cash donations to support the welfare of the Legionaries.

The Chaplain of Nkwegu Military Cantonment Abakaliki Reverend Father Raphael Ifejioku prayed for strength, blessings and God’s protection upon the Armed Forces to do more for all Nigerians.

The Chairman of Nigeria Legion of Ebonyi State, Captain Fidelis Ogodo (rtd) appreciated all who came to support them.

He urged the Nigerian Government to further look into their welfare as they have put all their energy into serving the nation when they were young.

Captain Ogodo promised that Nigeria Legion would work in synergy with other security Operatives in providing intelligent information that can help to end crimes in Nigeria.
