The Nigerian Chambers of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre (NCCDRC) is set to launch the second series of her mentorship program on 20th May, 2022. The program is slated to last for a period of one year. The mentorship program will enable budding ADR enthusiasts (the mentee) to experience the application of the theoretical knowledge gained during ADR trainings and equip themselves with the necessary abilities to cope with related demands by working closely with an experienced ADR expert (the mentor), thereby creating a practical learning environment where they can practice and demonstrate their newly learnt abilities.
According to the Registrar General of the Centre Aisha Ado Abdullahi, “The purpose of this Mentorship Programme is to equip the mentees with the necessary abilities to cope with related demands and create an environment where they are free to practice and demonstrate their newly learnt abilities.”
She added that “The goal of the mentorship program is that by the time the mentee has finally gained requisite skills as an Arbitrator, Mediator or Tribunal Registrar, he or she will have a practical appreciation of the application of ADR mechanisms and the operations of NCCIDRC, including how claims are made, how awards and rulings are processed and published, and how matters are assigned to Neutrals.”
