Following refusal of the Senate to amend the electoral act, Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi is considering resigning from the federal cabinet to participate in the presidential primaries of the All Progressive Congress.
A highly placed source within Amaechi caucus told our correspondent that the decision to resign was due to the favourable climate already created by recent developments within the party.
” Hon Amaechi will resign if the Senate resisted all moves to amend the Electoral Act. His chances are very bright, hence the decision to resign”, the source hinted.
While noting that the issue of amendment is not foreclosed, ” we are not taking any chances. If resignation is neccesary, Amaechi is ready”, the source confided.
