The AIG Zone 11 Command Osogbo,
Ag. AIG Sikiru Kayode Akande has decorated SP Ayeni Benjamin Zonal PPRO and SP Oyelumade Olusola OC Zonal X-Squad with the rank of Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP) at a special event witness by Police stakeholders, Royal fathers, PCRC members, eminent personalities and members of the Force. He congratulated them on behalf of IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR and charged them to keep the flag flying with good conduct and professionalism on the job.

At the occasion, he applauded the good people of Oyo and Osun States, especially the electorate, for conducting themselves in an orderly and peaceful manner in the just concluded 2023 Presidential and National Assembly Elections, which held across the various Polling Units of the States, on 25th February 2023. Like a football game, we are at the end of the first half, the second half is coming, let us do it well again.

While appreciating the uncommon confidence and support of the electorates, who came out in their numbers to exercise their franchise, he extended the goodwill to the Press Media, Police and other security agencies, which undoubtedly made the task of effectively policing the elections possible. He urged them to sustain the tempo and in the same manner, conduct themselves orderly and peacefully in the forthcoming Governorship and State House of Assembly Elections, slated for 11th March, 2023 which will mark the end of second half after which we can now celebrate.

On the outcomes of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Elections, the AIG has urged citizens of the States to remain law-abiding and avoid acting in ways capable of truncating the peace and tranquility experienced during and beyond the period of the Elections. He cautions all and sundry, especially political parties, their candidates and supporters, to desist from making and/or using the social media to spread falsehood and incitive statements, which criminal elements could capitalize on to perpetrate acts capable of breaching public peace and order in the State.

The AIG notes that, while the Command remains focused on the task of ensuring public security and safety of the good people of Oyo and Osun States, he will also not hesitate to deal decisively with any person or persons, especially subversive criminal elements, who may want to use the instrument of protest to breach public peace and cause havoc on human lives and property in the States.

To this end, citizens of the States have been enjoined to remain law-abiding, be security conscious and quickly report criminal suspects and any acts capable of breaching public peace to the nearest Police Station.
