Security Agencies in Combat Mood After Adeleke’s Directive as Police Assures Residents of Safety

Hours after the Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke had issued a directive to security agencies in the state over the report of kidnapping in an Osun community, security agencies have swung into action to ensure the release of the victim.

The Osun State Police Command assured residents that the Command in its resolute efforts to guarantee security of lives and property is on the trail of the suspected kidnappers that operated at a Fulani settlement within the boundary of Osun and Kwara States which is very close to Agbamu town.

Recall that it was reported that Seriki Fulani Mohammed Kajibo disclosed that unknown gunmen numbering about Eight suspected to be Fulani of the Bororo stock attacked Ago Igbira, a Fulani settlement and abducted 30 years old Mohammed Jubril and injured one Hassan Jubril during the invasion.

A statement by the Osun Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola noted that the Police Command in collaboration with the local vigilantes/hunters are currently combing the vast forest in the area, and equally deploying technical platforms to locate the position of the hoodlums.

She added that the Police Command will not rest on its oars until all criminal elements are apprehended and made to face justice.

Meanwhile, the operatives of Osun Amotekun corps have also embarked on a search of the kidnapped victim in Ago-Igbira a Fulani settlement of Ila-Orangun of Osun State.

Confirming the incident to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, Amotekun Corps Commander, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi noted that men of the corps were in search of the victim and will ensure his safe return.

He said “Operatives of Amotekun combed the forest all night till they got to Ago Inisha in Kwara State where the hunters, VGN, Agbekoya, and Kiriji Security joined up with our operatives to comb the forest.

“The combing continued to Arandun where our operatives made an entry at Arandun Police Station. The hunters in Arandun also joined up and the combing continued to Igbo Orile in Kwara State.

“Searching continues and we assure residents of Osun State that there will be no hiding place for any criminal in the State”.
