Eid-el-Fitri: Osun PDP rejoices with Muslims, harps on peaceful co-existence

As Muslims all over the world celebrate the end of holy month of ramadan, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party has commended the resilient and loving spirit of adherents of Islam in the state as demonstrated in the just concluded fasting period.

Nigerian join the world to celebrate Eid after Islamic authorities announced yesterday the sighting of the Shawwal Crescent Moon and therefore, Eid in the country is to be celebrated today, Friday, April 21.

Eid-Ul-Fitr which signifies the end of the month of Ramadan,, as a vocal pillar in Islam, is the ninth month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar and it is also considered to be the most auspicious of all months in the year.

A felicitation statement by the state PDP caretaker committee chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle on Friday described Osun Muslim Community as worthy signposts of peace and good neighborliness Islam represents as a religion.

“t is inspiring that Muslims considered wellbeing of the state in most of their open supplications in the course of the month, especially during the solemn periods of Tafsir and Laylatul Qadr, climaxing the holy month. This is greatly appreciated and we join the Governor of the state, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to identify with our Muslim Community on this beautiful day”, Dr Akindele noted.

The PDP Chairman further assured that the party and especially the PDP administration will continue to promote religious harmony in the state, expressing joy in the awesome maturity of leaders of different religious sects in the state for needed peace and coexistence, first and ultimately as brothers and sisters.
