In commemoration of the 56th birthday of Representative Bamidele Salam, Member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State in the National Assembly, staff members from his office on Wednesday donated food items and essential supplies to the Shining Star Orphanage in Lugbe, Abuja.
The donation, described as a continuation of Rep. Salam’s enduring commitment to social welfare, included staple food items such as rice, noodles, semovita, spaghetti, milk, toiletries, and educational materials.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the staff, team leader Akintayo Jimoh represented at the event by Toromade Faderera commended the orphanage’s staff for their unwavering dedication to the care and education of the children.
The speech reads, “Distinguished management and staff of Shining Star Orphanage, beloved children, and my esteemed colleagues, it is with great joy and humility that I stand before you today on behalf of Representative Bamidele Salam, the Member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State at the National Assembly.
“We are here not only to celebrate his birthday but also to extend his passion for service and love to this home.
“Rep. Salam has consistently demonstrated that leadership goes beyond occupying an office; it is about touching lives and making meaningful impact wherever the opportunity arises.
“His life’s philosophy is built on compassion, inclusiveness, and service to humanity.
“That is why we, his staff, thought it most appropriate to mark his birthday by giving back to society, especially to children who represent the future of our nation.
“It is also important to mention that while we are here in Abuja today, Rep. Salam himself is presently in Osun State celebrating the International Day of Older Persons.
“In his usual spirit of service, he is hosting a medical and welfare outreach for the elderly in his constituency. This reflects his belief that every segment of society whether the young or the aged deserves care, dignity, and support.”
It added, “This outreach is therefore not just an act of charity, but a continuation of the vision our principal embodies a vision that prioritizes the welfare of the vulnerable, uplifts the less privileged, and reminds us all that true greatness lies in service to others.
“By being here today, we are reaffirming that every child matters and deserves care, dignity, and hope for a brighter future.
“We recognise the enormous efforts of the management and caregivers of the Shining Star Orphanage. Your dedication to raising these children in love, discipline, and education is a noble service to humanity.
“On behalf of Rep. Salam, we salute your sacrifices and encourage you to remain steadfast in this mission. The impact of your work cannot be measured in material terms, for you are shaping lives that will, in turn, shape our society.
“Today, we present these modest items—bags of rice, cartons of noodles, semovita, spaghetti, milk, toiletries, and writing materials—not because they can meet all the needs of this home, but as a token of love and solidarity. It is our prayer that these resources will support the wellbeing of the children and remind them that they are not forgotten.
“Finally, on this joyous occasion of his birthday, we pray for Rep. Bamidele Salam, that God will grant him long life, good health, and greater strength to continue in his service to humanity. And we also pray for the children and management of this home that the Shining Star Orphanage will continue to shine as its name implies.

The management and children of Shining Star Orphanage warmly received the visiting delegation, offering prayers and birthday wishes for Rep. Salam.
