My Take as PDP Wins by 65%
The recent Geopolitics Survey International (GSI) report on Osun 2026 is not just a routine political poll; it is a resounding affirmation of the confidence and loyalty of the good people of Osun State in the leadership of Asiwaju of Edeland, His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. As the SA on Media to His Excellency, I find it both humbling and inspiring to see that the Governor Adeleke’s scorecard continues to speak louder than any campaign slogan ever could.
Observing with keen interest and with 66% of the 45,000 respondents across all nine federal constituencies indicating Governor Adeleke as their preferred candidate. This leaves his closest rivals in the dust of defeat. It is clear that the people know where their bread is buttered. The results are not only telling, but also a strong indication that our performance-driven governance is hitting the nail on the head.
What is more, the survey showed that 80% of respondents based their preference on performance and track record. That, to me, is the heartbeat of this story. In a political space where propaganda and ethnic sentiment often take centre stage, this data is a breath of fresh air. It reveals a matured electorate that now votes not by mere sentiment or empty political rhetorics but by substance. It proves that governance is no longer about who can shout the loudest or federal might, but who can deliver the most.
From road infrastructure to education, from healthcare to digital economy expansion, His Excellency, Governor Adeleke has remained a man of his word – a governor whose style is grounded in people-first policies and purposeful projects across the 30 local governments including the area office in Osun State. The Adeleke-led administration is not just checking boxes, it is rewriting the template for responsible and responsive governance in Osun State.
The numbers tell a compelling story. Come and fackcheck:
- Ademola Adeleke: 66%
- Bola Oyebamiji: 8%
- Iyiola Omisore: 6%
- Bashiru Suraju: 5%
- Najeem Salami: 5%
- Moshood Adeoti: 4%
- Undecided: 6%
These figures are not just digits on a spreadsheet; they are a reflection of trust earned, promises fulfilled and a future people can believe in. It also serves as a clarion call to the opposition: you cannot put something on nothing and expect it to stand. The days of political manipulation and vote-buying are fast fading. Osun voters have tasted good governance and they are not willing to go back to Egypt.
It is worth commending GSI for their robust methodology – 5,000 respondents per federal constituency is no small feat. Their commitment to data-driven insights will enrich political dialogue as the 2026 race unfolds. However, we must not rest on our oars. While the numbers favour us today, they are also a reminder that expectations are high and there is still work to be done.
As the campaign season gradually approaches, we will continue to consolidate on achievements, engage citizens directly and maintain the humility and passion that have defined Governor Adeleke’s leadership so far. We are not just running for re-election; we are running to keep hope alive.
In conclusion, I am proud to stand on the side of a visionary leader, whose scorecard is being written daily in the lives of Osun citizens. We are on the right track and the people have spoken, loud and clear.
Osun is working. The people are watching. And Adeleke is winning people’s hearts, minds and votes. Our slogan remains 4 + 4 = 8 years of good governance.
