The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Council, has commended the Osun State Police Command for its prompt and professional assurance to maintain law and order across all local government secretariats in the state.
In a statement issued by, the President of NULGE in Osun State, Comrade Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, praised the Police Command for its commitment to providing maximum security for lives and property as local government workers are set to resume duties on Monday.
Comrade Ogungbangbe described the proactive stance of the Police as a demonstration of responsibility and dedication to their constitutional role of safeguarding public peace and protecting lawful activities of workers.
He noted that the assurance given by the Command has significantly reassured union members and eased concerns over their safety at their respective duty posts.
According to him, the confidence expressed by the Police further reinforces NULGE’s belief in the ability of security agencies to act impartially and decisively in the interest of the rule of law and public order.
The NULGE president reaffirmed the union’s commitment to peaceful engagement, due process and responsible unionism, while urging members to cooperate fully with security agencies.
He also called on workers to conduct themselves in a calm, lawful and orderly manner in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
Comrade Ogungbangbe concluded by expressing appreciation to the Osun State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, for its vigilance, professionalism and steadfast commitment to peace and stability in the state.
