…Agric Commissioner, Faseru assures family of government support…

Touched by the recent road mishap which claimed the life of Mrs. Fanimokun Ogunmokun, a staff of the University of Ilesa, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola has directed a state delegation to visit the family of the deceased in Ijebu-Jesa.
The delegation was led by the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele alongside the Commissioner for Agric, Hon. Tola Faseru, Special Adviser on Transportation, Hon. Yakubu Adejare, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr Isiaka Yahaya, SSA on Transportation, Hon. Hamid Adewale among others.
The delegation visited the scene of the accident, the University of Ilesa main campus and the police station before proceeding to the residence of the deceased in Ijebu-Jesa where they met with the husband, children and other family members.
Speaking at the residence of the deceased, Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele who described the incident as a sad one assured residence that the Governor is doing everything to forstall such occurrence in future.
While admonishing families of the victim to take heart and see the incident as the will of God, the Commissioner explained that the occurrence is an accident which could happen to anyone at anytime, urging them not to cast the blame on any individual.
Hon. Oyedele appealed for calm among protesting students and other residents, stressing that the State government already feels their pain, especially that an avoidable accident has claimed the life of a woman who has served the State meritoriouslly.
While explaining that Government is already taking steps to ensure that such never happens again, the Transportation Commissioner assured the families of the victim that government will do needful to ensure that the husband and children of the victim are not left alone.
In his words, “On behalf of the Osun State government, I commiserate with the families and friends of Mrs. Fanimokun Ogunmokun, it is indeed an unfortunate one and we are sad.
“Honestly, it is a fact that we must do something about heavy trucks plying our roads, especially those carrying containers which can fall off at any time, our roads needs to be kept safer, the events that led to the sudden demise of Mrs. Fanimokun Ogunmokun is heartbreaking”.
While speaking, the first son of the deceased, Mr Fanimokun Samuel thanked Governor Ademola Adeleke for his compassion and support to the family at this time of their grief.
He said the step of the Governor in raising a State delegation to visit the family is testament to the fact that he is a kind hearted man who has compassion for residents of the State.
According to him, “that the State Governor has raised a state delegation to come visit us at Ijebu-Jesa is indeed a sign of the compassion of the Governor and we are indeed grateful that he is sharing in our grief”. He stated.
