The Osun State Government has terminated the appointment of Mr. Adewale Yemi Michael as Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, citing conflict of interest.

This was contained in an official letter issued from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government and signed by Teslim Igbalaye.

The letter, dated February 13, 2026, and addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of General Services and Protocol, Office of the Governor, conveyed the government’s decision to disengage Michael from the public service.
Titled “Termination of Appointment,” the correspondence stated that the decision was taken in the best interest of the state government.
“I write to notify you that the Government of Osun State in our best interest has terminated the appointment of Adewale Yemi Michael, Special Adviser to the Governor,” the letter read in part.

It further noted that the termination was as a result of a conflict of interest and that the disengagement from the Public Service of Osun State Government took effect from February 11, 2026.

Findings indicate that Michael’s appointment had already been terminated effective February 11, 2026 days before he reportedly began circulating a purported resignation letter on social media just recently.

The official letter from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government shows that the government’s decision preceded the emergence of the resignation claim.

Although the letter did not provide further details about the nature of the alleged conflict of interest, the development confirms that Michael is no longer serving in the administration of Ademola Adeleke.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from Michael regarding the termination.
