Accord Speaks On Survey Polls On August Election

Accord has reviewed the recently released survey by Geopolitics Survey International (GSI) regarding the upcoming governorship election in Osun State, and described the poll as a true reflection of the electoral thinking, and choices of the people of Osun State.

According to Accord state chairman Pastor Victor Akande noted that the GSI survey revealed that 79 percent of sampled respondents said they will vote for Governor Ademola Adeleke if an election were to be held today, 15 percent selected AMBO, while 6 percent opted for Najeem.

Most respondents to this question cited Adeleke’s exceptional performance in office as the reasons for their choice, while the same percentage listed their voices against AMBO on the ground of his past anti-labor stance, being part of failed APC regime of the past, and his alleged involvement in the ongoing illegal extension of illegal tenure of APC Yes/No officials across Osun local governments.

Accord had conducted its own review over a period of two weeks and found the winning percentage of Governor Adeleke to be above 80 percent, confirming the widespread popularity and acceptance of his administration among Osun people.

The survey released by Geopolitics International echoed the anger of the people against the APC for its dehumanising treatment of pensioners and local workers, for its unrepentance over the half salaries, and its lack of remorse for bad governance of 2018 to 2022, among others.

Accord is working with a coalition of several other groups and platforms to deliver Adeleke for a second term, ensuring continuity of progress and people-centered governance in Osun State.
