Osun APC is in disarray, stand no chance against Gov. Adeleke – Dr Akindele

The immediate past Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for conducting its affairs in a shabby manner, slamming the party as disorganised and incapable of mounting a proper challenge against Governor Ademola Adeleke in the next year’s governorship poll.

In a statement he personally signed on Thursday, Hon. Dr Akindele observed a tale of anomaly in the administration of the main opposition party in Osun state, saying these has cast a big doubt on who is the chairman of the party in the state.

“It is an irony that a party (APC) that daily entertained the fantasy of upstaging the PDP government in Osun state could not organise itself well. It is hard to say there is APC in Osun state because what we see every time is each of the factions trying to edge one another in the joke of opposition,” Dr Akindele noted.

“The chaotic messaging which is becoming a daily part of the Osun APC, offers a glimpse into the extent of disarray that the party has sunk and incapable of mounting a proper challenge against the PDP-led government.

“A casual observer would confuse Timothy Owoeye as the Chairman of Osun APC because he’s always holding a press conference in the name of the party. Sooko Tajudeen Lawal has been obviously stripped of his responsibility simply because he belongs to a camp different from the AMUBO camp, which seems to enjoy the support of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.”

Dr Akindele said the divisive outlook has not only exposed the Osun APC as a disorganised party but also a band of political desperados seeking power for selfish objectives, noting that those who cannot put their houses in order cannot be safe with power.

“Not only did those from the AMUBO camp detest those within the Osun APC, but also stifle the leadership from exercising influence over the party. Party officials, like Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, who seems to favour Otunba Iyiola Omisore candidacy, have been rendered incapacitated with either Owoeye or Olabisi doing his job.”

Dr Akindele however praised the PDP Chairman in the state, Hon. Sunday Bisi, for galvanising the party towards more acceptance by the people, saying the PDP has grown in strength and become increasingly difficult to beat in an election.

“Under Sunday Bisi, the PDP has grown in strength and worth, becoming increasingly difficult to beat. He has defended the interest of the party so we’ll and build the confidence of stakeholders, members, and the public in the party,” he added.
