The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reiterated that his government is resolved never to borrow money from any financial Institution to run the affairs of the State.
He disclosed that there are better means of generating funds internally to run the government.
The Governor gave the assurance in Osogbo, the State Capital, during the first edition of “Ipade Imole”, a quarterly interactive meeting organized for him to give account of his stewarship to the people, and to also secure feedbacks from them.
At the programme in which a documentary highlighting the achievements of the Governor in the last ten months was relayed, the State helmsman took time to reel out some of his achievements, detailing : erection of 332 boreholes across the wards in the State, expediting work on Ilesa water project, rehabilitation and construction of roads across the State, prompt payment of workers salaries and pensions, including free Imole medical outreaches.
“I have resolved to spend the #2 billion Palliative Fund received from the Federal Government on major projects among which are: renovation and procurement of more buses for easy and affordable transportation as well as rehabilitation of health facilities.
“I have been sacrificing my statutory security votes on infrastructural developmental projects and political functionaries to follow this sacrificial service example for the overall development of the State.
“Recruitment of Teachers to fill the existing vacancies in schools, the State helmsman stated that it will be done after studying the report of the education summit held few days ago, adding that he is working round the clock to make sure Osun becomes a reference point in the Country”, Adeleke concluded.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi observed that the programme is a welcome development in order to allow the number one citizen of the State give the much needed account of the giant strides of his administration.
While appreciating the Governor for his proactive steps in quenching the fire of violence kindled within Ifon and Ilobu communities, the Oluomo of Erin-Osun passionately appealed to his people to embrace peace.
